However, now that there are two mapping projects... one will die. We are obviously not wanted on the new map. This is just another example of how Natopia has never, and most likely never will, "fit in" with the micronational crowd. The GSO already had reserved a spot for Natopia on their map.

But we were never told of it and no one bothered to tell us about it, even though Edgard forgot... that's the only excuse I've heard and hardly a good one.

Here are some quotes from threads archived in the GSO boardroom. "The southeastern extension [of the new Novasolan continent] is available for Natopia, if they want it." - John Darcy "Natopia and Alexandria I would like to have join as they are Novasolum nations." - King of Gotzborg "As a Novasolum nation and Treaty member ourselves this would be desirable." - AmbassadorJames' response to the above. "Looking over, I think Alexnadria can drag Natopia and perhaps even Antica in." - Gus Portela And finally: img125.imageshack.us/img125/189/natopiarm5.png

This is all just wonderful but doesn't change anything.

Maybe not, but it invalidates your claim that Novasolum or the GSO ignored you.

Perhaps "ignore" was the wrong word then. I don't care if the GSO ignores us or not... the Novasolan nations, despite talking about us, never bothered to actively consult us. They just said "Edgard, take care of it" and no one else ever followed up to make sure that a fellow Novasolan nation was aware that its allies were about to pack up and leave.

They were not allowed to tell you due to their pledge of secrecy. Only the person officially sent on a mission to get you "on board" of the GSO was allowed to tell you.

Again, that secrecy policy was a really good idea. It all sounds so exciting.

No, it is simply prudent for a sensitive project like the GSO to have a policy of secrecy before its official launch.

"sensitive"
Very diplomatic wording Your Majesty. You're right, if you all had been public about this, everyone would have argued with you and tried to tell you not to do it. And then, if you did stop, it must've not been a very good idea in the first place. So good thing you did this in secret. Now your very nice map is all done and no one can can anything bad about it without them looking jealous and personally insulted. Brialliant.

It indeed is. And it is all the consequence of the fact that the GSO has a Board that consists of hardened ultra-talented micronational veterans who know what they are doing.

I have spoken with Tasneem and Nate in private about this, and I've felt that a public and official apology not just to Neem and Nate are needed, but to the entire Natopian nation.
I know that all the sorries in the world may not make up for this. I pointed out to the GSO that Natopia needed to be included in it. Everyone was for it, and I took it upon myself at the time to tell Natopia about it. I was relaly hoping that Natopia would join us because I value our friendship and I couldn't picture a map without our friends being on it.
When I made that commitment, I was undergoing certain personal problems. I'm still in the midst of them, and since most of the problems were rooted at home, I decided that the best way to deal with them was to avoid them - avoiding the house meant avoiding my computer therefore avoiding pretty much most of my micronational duties excpet those in Alexandria.
I don't want to use that as a sob story or anything. I know that the fact that I forgot is an insult to Natopia. I did not mean to forget. I did not mean to harm Natopia in anyway. I am good friends with Tasneem and Nate.
I have been a bad friend, and I wish to extend my full apologies to all of the parties that have been affected in Natopia and everywhere else. It was my fault that I forgot, it was my fault that I kept on procrastinating and putting everything off.
I hope that this apology can be accepted. I value Natopia's friendship highly, and I know that this little memory failure of mine does not support that statement.
I would like to take full responsibility for this, and again, I would like to apologize to everyone. If there is anything I can do to make Natopia join us in the GSO, or anything at all to make it up to you, please let me know. I would like to prove that I am indeed a friend.
Please, join us in the GSO.
Thank you.

I don't give a flying fuck if Alxandria 'forgot' but I do care that no one gave a dam enough to include us in this shit. If you had meant to include Natopia we would have been included. Didnt it strike anyone as odd that after we were invivted we never showed up? That didnt make anyone wonder?
Come on!
