Carson, this thread began well before you were ever President of Lavalon, so don't blame Z.

True, but I was Minister of the Exterior then, and that's who he needs permission from.

Our "commitment to the nation" was probably not the best as the only reason Xon got the presidency was because Neem was LEAVING the country and I had left a week or two before.

Neem was still President. She should have exercised more caution in just giving the presidency away.

Hah, don't give me stuff on commitment to a nation... if I do recall, I went to the library after I moved just so I could get back to some micronations. And, I stayed until my ability as president came into question by the remaining citizens.
Btw, Carson, you were the judge who did the sentence on Xon when we filed charges against him, and one of the parts of the sentence was that he could come back after a while...

Carson watch your tong! I didn’t come here as a representative of Lavalon and no were in my post did I say I had any authority to begin discussion of a treaty. There is no law against what I did, and you better learn when people are encroaching on your position or are just trying to help the situation at hand. Get a grip.
Secondarily she gave Xon the presidency because the two of us (me and xon) enacted a coup which overthrew the VAUS government and put the two of us in charge. That was the equivalent of a unconditional surrender to the anti-VAUS faction.
It wasn’t the best move but her only other alternative was to make me president, and we all know I would have been immediately ousted and replaced with Xon anyway. One way or the other he would have been president. If anyone’s to blame for his taking power than you should blame me. I’m responsible for all of the post VAUS fallout. It was my incompetence in trusting Xon over my long time friends in the FJBP that caused the chaos that took hold of the republic. Don’t use Neem as a scapegoat there isn’t one Lavalonian who isn’t in some way to blame for the rise of Xon.

Z, please don't use the term 'coup' so loosely like that. Or 'enact'. (Courts don't enact things.)
Tasneem appointed me an associate justice of the supreme court. You were also an associate justice. We both consulted each other and together wrote a lengthy, well-written court ruling which invalidated parts of the VUAS treaty. We were able to make the ruling because together we constituted a two-thirds majority in the high court. At that moment there was an oppurtunity for the Natopians to rewrite parts of VUAS or to change the laws in Lavalon to make VUAS compatible with them. Rather than using this oppurtunity, Nathan and Tasneem resigned their positions and citizenship in Lavalon and concentrated their micronational efforts mainly on Natopia, where they seem to be enjoying things.
There is no one to blame for anything. All of us tried various things to steer Lavalon into the direction we wanted it to go in. Each of us had differing opinions of where we wanted it to go, hence the occasional but nonetheless climactic clashes.

Perhaps the ONLY thing I didnt agree with that whole VUAS court thing was that it was done a week or two after it was implemented and while i was away for, like 3 weeks. I would have amended things to keep VUAS together, but by the time I got back LAvalon had already started a new forum and was moving merrirly on its own way... So obviously you didnt want/need my help or even to amend VUAS. So I left. No regrets.

"Btw, Carson, you were the judge who did the sentence on Xon when we filed charges against him, and one of the parts of the sentence was that he could come back after a while..."
but you did actually shorten it.
And you're welcome, Z.

We planned to do it when we did. We did it then because Nate wasn’t around and Neem was moving or something. We did it so that there would be no amendment. We intentionally and knowingly destroyed VAUS. lavalon can be found at www.lavalonforums.uni.cc
