In cleaning my room, I came across the hardcopies of several old SSNG policies (even the dreaded "Secret Protocol" of 2003 in which the Politburo became not only a political machine but also a machine with the ability not only to enforce the law but the will of the state. Scary. 'Twas never fully enacted and eventually destroyed during the whole Perestroika Accord....fun fun) and said to myself: "Why has the SSNG and Natopia never actually gotten around to opening up diplomatic ties?"
And then it hit me--Lavalon. Lavalon had always been a center of diplomacy, mediation, etc. Even when we fought our darndest to keep foreign mediation out. Lavalon was the center of it all. It's what tied Sullifree, Breudwydd Natopia, the SSNG, and whatever other nations affected by it together. The SSNG had always had a rather platonic relationship with Natopia contingent on the continued vibrancy of Lavalon.
However, Lavalon is crumbling away. *tear* And so, the SSNG is breaking the crutch and rebuilding what it has lost in Lavalon.
So here we are.
The SSNG would like to formally recognize the sovereignty, existence, and perseverance of a separate Natopian state in whatever form it or its government may take.
Knowing the criteria for recognition by the Natopian government, it is important to show Natopia that the SSNG is not backsliding to tyranny and dictatorship. But rather, a more centralized government with the ability and capability to take drastic action when it is needed.
We await your reply with trepidation, as this will truly be a landmark in local micronationalism--platonic recognition for (two years is it?) an extended period without official communications between the nations. Wowee!
