Possible Treaty

My good friends! It is I, Sir Robert. I have recently been appointed by HRM August Charles II of Gotzborg as the Minister of State, for our Foreign Office. This means I get the honor of establishing Diplomatic Relations with others! I feel that Natopia would be a perfect start to my new job! I respectfully request that we open a dialogue in order to achieve a Treaty of Mutual Recognition and Friendship, which, I hope, will be but the first step in establishing a long-lasting relationship with my new pals from Natopia. Please let me know what I need to do in order to help push this through. Thank you!

Congratulations on you new job! Not much bureaucracy is needed to start dialogue. We don't have a standard treaty and you may look through the "Foreign Treaty" thread to get an idea of what kind of things Natopia looks for in treaties that it signs.

After that, just post what Gotzborg would like to see in the treaty and I will post what Natopia would like in the treaty. then, if necessary, we can fine tune the proposal into a signable treaty.

Treaty of Recognition and Friendship
between the Royal Kingdom of Gotzborg and the Imperial Republic of Natopia

AFFIRMING the spirit of friendship and cooperation on which relations between the two nations are based, and wishing to place their relations on an even closer and more solid foundation;

AFFIRMING that both nations formally recognize and respect each other as independent and sovereign nations.

ACKNOWLEDGING the importance to each nation of the relationship and the close connection between them;

RESOLVED to evaluate and pursue opportunities for their governments and their peoples to work together in a spirit of understanding on matters of mutual interest;

CONVINCED of the importance of creating, developing and maintaining relations on an equitable and mutually advantageous basis in a long-term perspective;

RECOGNISING that cooperation between the two nations should have their common interest in the prosperity and welfare of both nations;

CONVINCED that the conclusion of a Treaty which formally embodies the friendship and cooperation between the governments and peoples of the two nations will assist the further development of their relations;

HAVE RESOLVED to conclude this treaty and for that purpose sign to indicate acceptance as follows:

oh yeah... you can now use the Embassy that was just established. i know it wasnt called for in the treaty. but we give all of our allies an Embassy... whether or not they ask for one ive made you and HRM Charles II moderators of the board.
