I am interested to see how Natopia's constitution shapes up. Naturally, I would like to see Natopia adopt some aspects of what we have in Lavalon.
Now here we have the Grand Chancellor appointing senators. In Lavalon, all citizens are automatically what could best be described as "senators", as soon as they join us. Should the Grand Chancellor be required to make new citizens into new senators? I think so.
I think Natopia needs a strong legislative body, and one with the maximum amount of people participating (...ALL).
I believe the President (or king, or whatever it is) should be able to Veto AND Legislate. However, any Presidential action should be overrideable by the Strong Legislative Body.
Some may be worried with the prospect of a president with the ability to legislate. In a small micro-nations, decisions must be made quickly for them to take any effect, and it is easier to coordinate one's own thoughts than the many, so a Strong President is also a good thing.
I reccomend a Constitution that allows itself to be easily amended and interpreted. A judicial system should be applied to the Constitution to make sure that the government and its actions are in order.
Natopia and Lavalon need to have a special relationship written into your constitution. Like "on the first of may of each year, the Senate of Natopia will meet with the General Assembly of Lavalon". Like a American League-National League kind of thing. I guess.
If such measures are taken, expect them to be duplicated on the Lavalon side.
Clause Three: Senators will serve for life. The Grand Chancellor may appoint Senators to represent the Region in which they reside. The Grand Judge may overturn these appointments.
