I would like to begin by wishing everyone a very wonderful and doughnut-shaped yeast roll with a dense, chewy texture and shiny crust filled day!! Also, enjoy the juice - I find that the pineapple-grape-cherry-banana is quite yummy.
Today marks an important milestone in the history of political parties in micronations. While we can sit here all day and debate about the impact of the Free Juice and Bagel Party - I will leave that to another time, and for the scholars to work out.
In this world that we've all decided to participate in, four years is nothing to sneeze at. Any entity that has survived this long is quite rare indeed, and there is much cause for celebration. Back when the FJBP was first founded, there was obviously an air of humour and a sense of thumbing noses at the more serious political party establishment prevalent in many other nations. But no matter the reasons behind the FJBP's founding, there remains an eternal truth: that any organisation which promises excellent free food and drink at every gathering is bound to be hella popular. And who can resist the allure of bagels and juice? I think it is safe to say that none of us could!
I cannot bring to mind another political party which branched out so successfully into other nations. The FJBP was also quite popular when Lavalon was independent - although the basic tenets of the original Party were somewhat altered and added on to. This more serious version of Free Juice and Bagels, while popular, was not destined to have the longevity of the FJBP we now celebrate. I feel that this is further proof that people should learn not to take themselves too seriously.
It saddens me somewhat that the very first Chairperson, and possibly the FJBP's most faithful member, Tasneem Chowdhury, is not here with us today. While I know her absence is felt by all Natopians, and many of us who are friends to the nation, today that loss is felt even moreso. I hope that she is doing well wherever she is - and I think that it is only fitting that we all raise our juice (or tea, if you happen to be a commie anti-juice son of a - ) *ahem* let us raise our juice to the first and most popular Chairperson of the Free Juice and Bagel Party - Tasneem!!
I will go ahead and wrap this up now, much to everyone's delight, I'm sure. I would talk more, but there's a delicious-looking banana-nut bagel over there that I want to get my hands on! Congrats to the Free Juice and Bagel Party, and to the Natopian people! My best wishes to all assembled here today. Now if you'll excuse me - bagels are a-callin!
