Uhhh... I'd like to say Cisco certification, but I'm not completely sure if that's what it's called. My dad's friend is working on getting fully certified. He works for Sprint (their main place is in Kansas City) and he gets paid a ton cause he built this one thing with other people, and if anything goes wrong with it, only a few people know how to fix it and he's one of them. So, if you can land yourself in something like that, you have it made. During Hurricane Katrina, he was over at my house in Grand Rapids, and he was on the phone non-stop to get the Sprint lines back up in New Orleans.

My uncle is teaching one of the Cisco certification classes in Austin, Texas, right now, and at one point in time, he was pushing for me to go into computers, but I lost interest in it so it never worked out.

That's a cool story. I know computer scientists work real hard to get stuff running. The average salary is good. Now, this Cisco stuff is not a college degree. If it doesn't require a college degree to pass, then maybe I could do that still with another major and work a computer job as I go through college and graduate school in a subject with fewer job oppurtunities. Just one option, I guess. Thanks for the info.

True true. Nice plan. At one point in time, I was thinking of minoring in history and computer sciences and then doing pre-med (btw, I only like the history part of the whole thing). But right now I'm just rolling with whatever. [or not rolling with it since I have yet to start a college application]
