I randomly stumbled across Natopia in my search for things to annex, and I must say I'm very impressed with what you've done here. A nation with an active forum, interesting institutions, and, incredibly, a sense of humor. If I didn't know better I'd say I'd accidentally turned around and gone right back to Shireroth!

After looking over your website, I notice that you don't pursue relations with countries of various sorts, such as those that are totalitarian and don't respect human rights. Unfortunately, we're strong believers in absolutist government and don't recognize any rights at all, but you'll find that we're pretty good people anyway, so I hope you'll make an exception, as I'd love to open diplomatic channels between us.

You're all invited to visit and take part in the various interesting discussions that would be going on right now if everyone hadn't mysteriously disappeared (as happens around finals time every year).

The name should have been "Scott of Hyperborea", the title should have been "Howdy", and "Greetings from the Republic of Shireroth" should have been in the post. Foreign affairs are placed in total control of the executive, therefore I have the right to review submissions on a case by case basis. The section of the foreign policy decree you mentioned does not apply to Shireroth. The wording of the section implies that totalitarianism could be an instument for anti-humanitarianism. While you say that you grant citizens no rights at all, I don't see that as too terribly against Natopian policy. In fact, the traditional Natopian national motto is "peace through silent oppression."

Our imperial government is based on absolute power. Over time, however, power has been delegated to a senate, several Regions, and a judicial branch. All the while I hold almost total power. So I definitivly see a benefit to opening relations. Consider diplomatic channels open!

Thank you for your praise... very few foreigners realize the subtle splendor of Natopia. We take pride in our national humor. In a nation with no elections whatsoever there is one politcal party, the Free Juice and Bagels Party, and it is absolutly useless.

In fact,if we had no sense of humor I would have taken that banana gif of yours as a threat on Natopia and would have promptly invaded. but I find that banana gif hilarious!

Hmm. That's almost exactly the way we work in Shireroth. Most of our power resides with Kaiser Wyltheow I, but he usually lets everyone else make the policy.

It's actually been one of the smilies on our board for a long time. Harvey gave it to us, but I'm not sure whether he made it himself or got it from someone else. It's back from a period when we were in a cold war with a banana worshipping sect; as you can imagine, it's something of a long story, but eventually we got the upper hand, so now everything's good.
