Does anyone think that someone will come forward and get the $10,000 prize from Doonesbury. You can see the cartoon here: doonesbury.msn.com/strip/bush_guard.html They technically won't give the money but instead donate it in their name. That person will get a tax deduction or something... It is pretty smart, cause I doubt that anyone will go for it.

Even if someone stepped forward, there would be a public outcry that they were making it up just to get the money.
Nothing serious will ever come of this. They're just putting on a show to generate publicity for themselves and create more animosity between the Republicans and Demorats.

Yeah, but I thought it was funny. No one's gonna show up for it anyways.

i think its kinda humourous. but my dad made an interesting point. he says that this will barely affect the election. its still 8 months away and the average voter will forget about this (assuming it gets dropped by the media) by that time. its still funny that the Commander-in-Chief of the world's most powerful military had his daddy buy him a spot in the Alabama Nat. Guard... ya know... defending the Gulf from those evil Mexicans.
does anyone see the irony here? he wanted to stay behind in the US during the VERY controverial Vietnam war. a war were the US butted in despite what most americans thought (excluding hippies). NOW he's making america butt in Afghanistan, Iraq and who knows where else pending re-election. i mean the motives for Vietnam (stop communism) and Afghanistan (trade centers) were warranted, and although the Iraq war was not warranted, it DID save the Iraqis from oppression. but hes butting in again. hippocritical i guess u'd say he was.

Yeah, that is pretty ironic. But, true, no ones gonna remember it in election time unfortunately. Stupid average American, why can't you remember it and vote against Bush?

Because the average american can't remember their wife's birthday, much less the issues in an election.
Back during the 2000 election, only 31% of people could name either of the people running for president, and a pitiful 17% could name a vice-presidential candidate.

Can't we just send all the stupider ones to moon and tell them to survive off of cheese?
Wait... since I knew both I would be smarter than the average American... That doesn't sound right...
Hmm maybe I am smart but I just don't want to admit it... Maybe I just act stupid cause I think it's funny... Nah that's just crazy! Almost as crazy as Nathan! Or as crazy as Sherry!
