Welcome Novasolan friends. I trust you are all aware of the fledgling non-alignment movement that Natopia, Antica, and Riponia have initiated in the past few days. If not, please read the declaration posted in the Announcement thread throughout these forums.
I have called this conference because I feel that the nations of Novasolum are perfectly suited for joining the movement. Gotzborg, Anthelia, Alexandria, and Natopia are all of approximatly equal size and micronational stature... the very nations that the movement hopes to attract to achieve its goal: forming a collective counterbalance to the presumed power of, to quote myself, "old bastions of micronational tradition."
Steven, of Antica, has asked to observe these procedings. I hope no other delegates find a problem with that (this is a public forum after all).
I hope to come to a unanimous decision and show Novasolan unity in a way no other multinational continent on Micras has ever done.

Naturally, the juice and bagels are at the back of the room, I'm afraid it will have to be self-serve, your Majesty, the conference was quickly put together without thought of caterers The purpose of the non-alignment movement is, quite frankly, for its "members" (i use that term loosely) to state that they do not have a predisposition to blindly "cling" to the older, presumably more powerful, nations of Micras. This is not to say that non-aligned nations may not engage in foreign relations, or I would even go so far as to say enter into alliances with, the larger nations. This grouping of nations is intended to be a voice of the smaller and medium nations to speak out when the larger nations initiate policies and activities that only they can seem to get away with, due to their age, prestige, or personal connections. I do not know what else I can say, perhaps there are some questions I can answer to clarify further?

I'm afraid I don't drink, Highness. But thank you.
Do you have any comments or questions about the movement?

So then, I have to ask, what would you consider an 'older micronation' What are the criteria or gauge by which you fit nations into this?

It's not so much their age that we would use to categorize them. At the movement's announcement at MNN, it was pointed out that Natopia was an "old micronation." However, in this instance many of the "old microantions" are about 5 years old, or older. They consider themselves as the seasoned leaders, natural picks due to their presumed, albeit sometimes jaded, experiences.

I agree with you, its just in this case, if you want to specifically target something, it is necessary to quantify and define clear lines of seperation so that people, newcomers, outsiders what-have-you understand more clearly the meaning.
I have heard the same thing mentioned about Gotzborg being an 'old nation' as well, and at other times, still one of the new ones. It matters neither to me, but the reality is that there are many perceptions of what that means. Because of that its important that the definitions are properlly made, otherwise you stand the chance of offending people and generally missing the point of what you had intended.
I know where you are going with this and I agree you see a need for it, I just want to help and assist to make sure that you see success.

Thank you for your support. I am hoping the movement will start to focus itself more clearly in the coming weeks, in order to show, rather than merely state, what exactly we are intending to do.
