I disagree. I don't think that would wash in macronationalism, and then it shouldn't here either. A treaty is binding, period. That would make me less prone to creating a treaty with another nation although perhaps micronations should be weary of treaty-making anyway (what if two allies fight eachother?)

treaties are only binding if there is someone to enforce them... and if a country allows another power to enforce the treaty. if we sign and pass a treaty, we will follow it... but if some pressing need requires us to need to change our constitution... i am damn well gonna change the constitution before im gonna let a treaty tie my hands behind my back...
thats one reason why i was not too happy with the novasolum treaty during the circum-raynor war... our allies came in and tried to stop us... i appreciate the need for cooperation, but i also appreciate the need for a nation's total sovereignty.

In general I don't think it was binding anyway since it was a recwar, trust me, if someone had tried to pull that shiznit with Sullifree I would have chick-slapped their anus.

I've decided it is best to avoid profanity, so I must disagree.
What's lame... is you being so close to Nate's ridiculous amount of posts... but yet never quite reaching it. </evil>

The only obligation of government is to the people it protects as such we morally cannot inhibit our ability to change our constitution because of a treaty to a foreign power. Therefore we cannot bind ourselves to treaties if circumstances here dictate that we change our laws or constitution in such a way that it would void said treaty. That isn’t our problem and it would be morally abhorrent of us as the Natopian government to put treaties above any action that would be necessary for the good of Natopia.
